The Trails of Ladakh - Day 10

Tuesday 19th, Skinyang to Leh

Today we head back to our base in Leh in the all terrain vehicles. We have one last stop in Alchi to see the ancient monastery. Here we stay in a hotel and it feels strange not to be under canvas. In fact, we all miss our sleeping bags mainly because the hotel beds are so hard!

We look around Alchi and visit the temple, but I miss being out on the trail. Most of us don’t really want it to end and we have heavy hearts as we contemplate the flight back to Delhi and then on to London.

Would we do it again? Absolutely because we hardly scratched the surface of this amazing region. There are so many places to see and we’d love to do an even longer trek.
