Moody seascapes

West shore is in Llandudno north Wales, about 20 miles from my home. It’s one of many places that are easily accessible for me and it’s a great place to catch a sunset and admire the distant hills and outline of the island of Anglesey (Ynys Mon) in the distance.

I headed out on September 1st which was a dull and breezy day but it had photographic promise. The skies were heavy with dark fast moving clouds that gave it a dramatic and almost gothic feel. I felt excited and hoped I could capture something worth sharing.

The images here were captured with my Fujifilm camera using the Velvia and Astia colour profiles. Shooting in RAW meant post processing was done in Adobe Lightroom but with minimal tweaks. Because the colour profiles are so good, over-processing destroys the unique look that Fuji delivers. That’s why I try to keep things as simple as possible and not be too tempted by all the things you can do!

The more I use the Fuji the less time I spend post-processing which suits me just fine. Like most photographers I want to spend more time with my camera and less time sitting at my computer.
